Metallic hardcore group Lockslip have released a new single titled “I’m The Same“. That track is lyrically centered around mental illness, with vocalist Sara G stating:

“My family has a history of mental illness being left untreated for far too long. Because of this, we had a pretty tumultuous household for most of my life. I have fears with my own mental health, that I may end up that way, but I am aware enough to know some of the signs. I am constantly evaluating my own thoughts and actions.”

Freeculture.api took on the vampiric music video for the track, with drummer Noah Baxter stating:

“”Freeculture.api is a digital artist I’ve followed for years now, part of this renaissance of low poly and early 3D revival in computer art and animation. Growing up, I spent a lot of time in these 3D digital spaces, sometimes surrounded by others but more often alone with my thoughts, so when this song came together and I read Sara‘s lyrics it just made sense to me, as a way to visually describe the alien and abstract way we actually inhabit our own heads.”

The band’s new album “The Conversation” is due for a November 06th release on Bleakhouse.
