Current Sex Pistols vocalist Frank Carter (formerly of Gallows, etc.) has taken to social media to further comment on the incident that transpired during their October 09th show at the Ogden Theatre in Denver, CO. During that set, Carter got into a heated exchange with a male concertgoer in attendance that ultimately saw Carter have security eject the disruptive fan.

The issue at the heart of that was the fan taking objection with Carter and the punk legends setting out a designated area in the audience for women to mosh safely amongst themselves. While Carter did attempt to move on from the discussion with the concertgoer in question, apparent repeated antagonistic responses made by the fan appear to have tested Carter‘s patience, with Carter ultimately having the fan removed, after extensively berating him.

You can watch all that play out in this story from yesterday, October 10th. Taking to his social media over the weekend since, Carter shared a post on his Instagram story of himself flipping the bird, captioning it:

“If you are a man who gets offended by a band making room for a female only moshpit then you are PART OF THE PROBLEM

Stay home, read a book by Bell Hooks, come back when kindness, compassion and empathy have landed with you.

Incels, homophobes , misogynists, racists, fascists not welcome”

Separate posts saw him continue:

“Also this isn’t up for debate. I don’ t care for your pedantry. If it isn’ t your lived experience, don’ t fucking speak on it.

If you are offended by being told something isn’t for you then imagine how it feels to be a woman in the current climate”

“And finally…

When I say a Ladies only moshpit pit

I of course mean a trans inclusionary space

The space is for people who don’ t usually feel safe…. To dance and have fun without the worry of physical, sexual or psychological violence being used against them while they are vulnerable”

“DO NOT LET THEM DIVIDE US”

Carter then went on to share a message he received from an individual identifying themselves as the father of the fan Carter had ejected. That text stated:

“Frank let me apologize that was my idiotic son who decided to make a stand last night in Denver about the womens mosh pit. Wasnt how he was raised, wasnt what he was taught. His sisters learning of his stand are very upset w him as am I. Unfortunately this is what has happened in our country and the misinformation and poison that has been spewed into young and old people has infected and affected our country.

Ty for doing that- keep it up and ty for a great show. I was watching from the balcony and didn’t even know it was him until after the show. Keep rocking and making moments like that. I watched the women during their time and saw all of them having so much fun and i wonder years from now what they will do from your encouragement to try something they may have always wanted to but didnt feel safe trying to do. All small acts are important! Keep it up and best to ya n the band.”
