Justifications have just unleashed their debut single “Urge To Kill” online. Its debut follows a roughly weeklong initial airing on SiriusXM. That metallic hardcore group feature a pair of The Red Chord members past and present. Vocalist Guy Kozowyk fronts both of those aforementioned outfits, while his former The Red Chord bandmate Kevin Rampelberg handles guitars here. Rounding out the roster is guitarist Mark MacDonald (Austrian Death Machine), bassist Jason Edney and drummer Tony Hersey.
Recording sessions for this initial strike were overseen by Kevin Billingslea (Lamb Of God, Cruel Hand), while Zeuss (Rob Zombie, Hatebreed) was brought in to mix and master. Kozowyk said of the project, “Justifications is intended to be direct and fun. A knee-jerk reaction to the world around us.” Rampelberg added, “The music is more direct, and I think that naturally allows it to connect with people in a different way.”
Kozowyk further went on to state of his mission with this song, “I was on a mission to deliver lines that sounded abrasive but were also legible. I have a great appreciation for vocalists who are both brutal and can enunciate. If you actually have something to say, I want to hear it.”
The group will soon take to the stage for their first live show, having been booked to open for Deadguy tomorrow, September 19th. Their schedule currently runs as follows:
09/19 Bensalem, PA – Broken Goblet Brewing (feat. Deadguy)
09/26 Henniker, NH – Henniker Brewing Company (feat. Pathogenic)
