Gordon “Kaelin” McIntyre, former vocalist of Pennsylvanian hardcore band CDC has passed away. McIntyre went on to depart that band in 2006, and more recently had been serving as a touring professional on the road with other artists. CDC‘s own Kurt Fowles spoke on McIntyre‘s passing overnight, stating:

“I don’t even know what to say. I honestly can’t believe this is real.

Kaelin wasn’t just a friend. For more than 20 years, we lived a lifetime of memories together. We traveled the entire world, shared beds, shared stages, shared countless crazy nights, and were there for each other through some of the biggest moments of our lives.

So much of my life is tied to memories with Kael. There are places I’ve been, things I’ve experienced, and moments I’ll never forget because he was there.

It’s impossible to process that someone who was such a huge part of my life is suddenly gone. I keep thinking about all the memories, all the laughs, all the miles, and everything we experienced together.

I can’t believe you’re gone, Kael.

Rest easy, brother. I’ll carry those memories with me for the rest of my life.

RIP Kael.”

The Acacia Strain‘s Devin Shidaker also paid tribute today, stating:

“RIP Kaelin
Thank you for always being you. Thank you for touring with us and holding down the table. Thank you for dealing with us. Thank you for making us laugh.”
