Jack Osbourne has dropped a few more details regarding the 2027 return of the ‘Ozzfest‘. Past commentary from Sharon Osbourne on this resurrection of this once annual metal/rock touring festival have indicated plans for a few destination stops in the new year. One of those venues was recently officially confirmed to be Villa Park in Birmingham, UK, the hometown of the festival’s late namesake Ozzy Osbourne.

That venue also holds the distinction of hosting ‘Back To The Beginning‘, the final live sendoff for Ozzy and Black Sabbath in July of 2025. Newly speaking with SiriusXM‘s Page Six Radio, Jack stated of revisiting the fest, which was last held back in 2018 [transcribed by Blabbermouth.net]:

“It’s been interesting, ’cause it’s kind of like finding the old car in the shop and being, like, ‘All right, let’s get this engine going.’ But it’s cool. There’s a lot of excitement around it. And we’re gonna announce pretty soon — I think in the next couple of weeks we’re gonna announce kind of who the main headliner is and where we’re doing it. So it’s been nice.”

Thus far, Jack has stated that the festival will take place as one-day event(s), rather than be spread out across multiple days. Speaking further on the challenges of booking the festival in this current climate, Jack stated:

“It’s just really difficult now. It’s really difficult to kind of, like, ‘All right, who’s doing what?’ ‘Cause a lot of huge bands now are doing their own festivals, they’re doing their own thing, so it’s, like, ‘All right, who’s not got their own festival? Who’s available? Who’s reasonably priced?’ Because with all these huge festivals, artists are, like, ‘Yeah, I’ll do it for, like, 10 million dollars.’ You’re, like, ‘Eh.'”

Past comments made by Sharon Osbourne have indicated that the Villa Park stop will kickoff the return of the fest, with a few tentative stops in the United States planned to follow. With the Osbourne family curating this event, artists who had ties or drew inspiration from Ozzy are apparently a priority for the fest. Furthermore, newer artists will also be a focus.

Fan speculation for the event has already been running rampant, with Judas Priest being a favored frontrunner hoped for the fest, given the band’s inability to play the ‘Back To The Beginning‘ event last year due to prior commitments, and their long-shared history with Ozzy Osbourne. Priest were originally booked for what was to be one of Ozzy‘s final tours before his health concerns forced him off the road.

Rising rock star YUNGBLUD, a protégé of the Osbournes, who won his first GRAMMY Award for fronting a cover of Black Sabbath at last year’s ‘Back To The Beginning‘ festival, is also thought to be a likely booking.
