In the wake of the shocking news of Sid Wilson reportedly being fired from Slipknot today, July 31st, the band’s guitarist Jim Root has shared a suggestive statement on his Instagram story. While his words don’t directly reference the situation, they certainly seem to apply to Wilson‘s alleged dismissal and the theories surrounding it that have been flooding comment sections since. Root stated the following tonight:
“Don’t believe every thing you read. Stop. Think. Take a breath. Sit with it for awhile. Maybe. Just maybe even wait until there’s more information.”
TMZ reported earlier today that Wilson was permanently kicked out of the band, citing a source familiar with the situation. The reason for his apparent firing was not disclosed and neither party has publicly addressed the matter.
With Wilson seemingly out of the lineup, the band’s 9 classic era members from their late 90s and early 00s heyday are now down to 4 remaining members. Along with Root, vocalist Corey Taylor, percussionist M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan and guitarist Mick Thomson are still on the roster.
