Jack Osbourne, son of heavy metal icon Ozzy Osbourne and influential metal manager, etc. Sharon Osbourne, has drawn mixed reactions for his recent trip to the White House. Jack posted on his social media yesterday, June 14th, that he and his wife Aree took in the first-ever UFC event to be held on the White House grounds, ‘UFC Freedom 250’. In an Instagram post, Jack described attending that invite-only event as being the, “Ultimate Date Night.”
That assortment of MMA fights had become highly politicized in recent months, given that it was staged in conjunction with Trump‘s 80th birthday yesterday. ‘UFC Freedom 250’ was also billed as a patriotic celebration of America’s upcoming 250th anniversary. However, some have decried it as a publicity stunt for current U.S. President Donald J. Trump and UFC president/CEO Dana White, who have a long-documented friendship.
Outside of criticisms for putting himself into the orbit of the current U.S. Administration, many commentors on Jack‘s below post, stated that it flew against his father’s anti-war stance, citing the lyrics to Black Sabbath‘s 1970 anti-war protest anthem “War Pigs” as justification for their criticisms.
Others took issue with Jack in light of his commentary earlier this spring. While appearing on Capitol Hill with his mother, Jack and Sharon were asked by TMZ if they were outwardly political, to which Jack replied, “I think celebrities just need to keep their mouths shut. Make entertainment, entertain the people, and shut the f*ck up.”
Those comments from Jack drew criticism in their own right, given that earlier this year, Sharon publicly expressed support for a rally from far-right activist Tommy Robinson. In the past Ozzy had been critical of President Trump. However, despite the beloved heavy metal pioneer voicing his concerns, the Osbournes revealed that Trump personally left a voice mail offering his condolences in the wake of Ozzy‘s July 22nd, 2025 passing.
