There’s a new release in the pipeline from Head Automatica, though it’s likely not the one fans of the Daryl Palumbo-fronted outfit were expecting to get this year. Instead the dance rock band have a deluxe edition of their 2004 debut album “Decadence” cued up for a July 17th release date on Omnivore Recordings.
That record saw Palumbo break from the post-hardcore stylings of Glassjaw, pairing with producer Dan The Automator and Howard Benson (My Chemical Romance, In Flames) to explore other creative avenues. In addition to being newly remastered for this reissue, this deluxe version of the record will feature eight bonus tracks, those include:
“Brooklyn Is Burning” (Instrumental)
“Please Please Please (Young Hollywood)” (Smitty & Gabriel D. Vine Dub)
“Please Please Please (Young Hollywood)” (Smitty & Gabriel D. Vine Remix)
“Candy Warhol“
“Beating Heart Baby” (El-P Remix)
“Beating Heart Baby” (Mr. Mig Remix)
“Beating Heart Baby” (DTC Jungle Mix)
“Pulling Mussels (From A Shell)“
Updated liner notes from journalist Jason Pettigrew are also included, with vinyl and CD formats currently available to pre-order via omnivorerecordings.com. Those who plan to catch Head Automatica live next month can also potentially get their hands on one of 50 signed and numbered CD copies of this new deluxe edition. Those dates include:
06/01 Seattle, WA – Barboza
06/02 Portland, OR – Holocene
06/04 Sacramento, CA – Goldfield Trading Post
06/06 Santa Ana, CA – Constellation Room
06/07 Phoenix, AZ – Rebel Lounge
06/09 Salt Lake City, UT – Urban Lounge
06/11 Denver, CO – Marquis Theater
The band do have have a third studio album in the works, though as of yet, that follow-up to 2006’s “Popaganda” has yet to receive a release date.
