Emo/pop-punk vocalist/guitarist, etc. Max Bemis of Say Anything has announced that he has postponed his upcoming live performances to prioritize his mental health and personal well-being. The band’s statement follows in the wake of multiple unconfirmed allegations of sexual misconduct circulating among Reddit and other social media.
As of press time Bemis doesn’t appear to have publicly addressed the allegations, which include purported screenshots of conversations involving him. However, comments on Say Anything‘s below announcement showcase intense backlash towards him and the band in relation to the allegations.
Say Anything‘s statement, which was issued tonight, August 28th, reads:
“Due to the need to prioritize his mental health and personal well-being, Max Bemis‘ upcoming performances have been postponed.
Max will be taking the necessary time away to focus on his health.
We appreciate everyone’s understanding, patience and respect for his privacy at this time.
Refunds will be available at points of purchase.”
