Californian post-hardcore band Saosin have just been awarded their first gold record in the United States. The band’s 2006 self-titled debut album has newly crossed the threshold for that certification, with the group landing the honor on May 05th, 2026. It’s the second gold award Saosin have received overall amid their career, as that album’s third single, “You’re Not Alone“, was their first to land a gold certification from the RIAA back in May of 2023. This latest addition to their proverbial mantle is no doubt welcome timing for the band, as they recently released their first new song in over a decade.
*A platinum album/single in the United States represents 1,000,000 units, while gold signifies 500,000 units. Outside of traditional physical/digital sales, the certifications factor in digital streams/downloads with 10 permanent track downloads counting as 1 unit and 1500 on-demand audio/video streams from a particular album also counting as as a unit. 150 streams of a song also equate to a track-equivalent unit.
