Multi-platinum alternative metal outfit Disturbed has just notched up yet another entry in the Billions Club playlist on Spotify. “Down With The Sickness“, the 8x platinum second single to be launched from their 5x platinum 2000 debut album, “The Sickness“, has just joined the ranks of that exclusive club. Entry onto that playlist denotes 1 billion plays of a song on the popular digital service provider.
“Down With The Sickness” was added to the playlist this morning (April 20th) and it closely follows the band’s 2015 cover of Simon & Garfunkel‘s “The Sound Of Silence” in doing so. That rendition hit that very playlist 3 days ago. That particular cover continues rack up plays for the band, and is seemingly primed to earn the group their first diamond certification in the United States, as it currently stands at 9x multi-platinum status.
