U.S. Secretary Of War Pete Hegseth has now confirmed the aircrew who did a flyby over Kid Rock‘s Nashville, TN residence in a pair of AH-64 Apache attack helicopters over the weekend (March 28th) have had their suspension lifted. The U.S. Army had launched an investigation into the matter earlier this week, ultimately suspending the pilots involved for their decision to flyby Rock‘s Nashville mansion and hover over his property as he stood by his pool and cheered and saluted.
The display of military might was met with criticism for some as being a wasteful publicity stunt committed using U.S. taxpayer dollars. Rock himself used a social media post of the video footage of the visit to take a shot at his longtime rival, Californian Governor Gavin Newsom.
Rock, who has modeled his Nashville mansion after The White House and refers to it as ‘The Southern White House’, has been an outspoken conservative and longtime friend of U.S. President Donald J. Trump. Speaking to local radio station, WKRN this week, Rock down played any potential consequences for the pilots involved, stating:
“I think they’re [the pilots] gonna be all right. My buddy is commander in chief. I mean, what are they [the U.S. Army] looking into? They stopped seconds … a minute?”
Pressed for comment about the video today, March 31st, by Fox News, President Trump told Fox News: “Well, they probably shouldn’t have been doing it, yes. You’re not supposed to be playing games, right?” He went on to quip, “They like Kid Rock. I like Kid Rock. Maybe they were trying to defend him. I don’t know.”
Now comes word this evening that Hegseth has apparently cleared the aircrew involved of any wrongdoing, stating on social media today:
“Thank you @KidRock.
@USArmy pilots suspension LIFTED.
No punishment. No investigation.
Carry on, patriots.”
