Converge, Mutoid Man, etc. drummer was involved in a fairly serious auto accident today, December 07th. As shared on his Instagram below, he claimed his car was t-boned, with the vehicle that hit him fleeing the scene afterwards. However, there may yet be repercussions for the other person(s) involved, as Koller claims the driver’s license plate fell off at the scene, complete with their bumper. Despite having his car upended, Koller has stated that he escaped with minor injuries.
“Nice little Sunday. They t-boned me and fled the scene. Luckily their bumper flew off and had the license plate on it. I’m somehow walking and talking and pretty lucky to be alive. Don’t waste a second this thing could be over at any second and it’s completely out of your control. I think god wants me to finish my work at @heavymusiccollective ok bye see you at saddest day fest”
Koller went on to make a separate comment on the below, stating, “Thank you for saving my life @toyotausa.” The comments of the below post have also seen numerous musicians express their well wishes to him, from his Converge bandmate Jacob Bannon, to members of Suicidal Tendencies, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Periphery & more.
As Koller stated above, despite literally having his world flipped upside down, he still intends to perform at Converge‘s upcoming ‘Saddest Day‘ festival at the Roadrunner in Boston, MA next Saturday, December 13th. As for his mention of the Heavy Music Collective, Koller recently co-founded that Metallica-backed company to assist metal bands in easily collecting their royalties.
