Machine Head will be a bit shorthanded for the opening dates of their upcoming Australian touring this year. A post shared yesterday (November 27th) by the band’s vocalist/guitarist Robb Flynn spelled out how some scheduling conflicts will find the thrash/groove metal band performing as a trio during a few of their shows down under.

As Flynn explained below, the guitar player they hired to perform these six shows wound up having a family emergency, and thus will miss the first three shows of the run. That fill-in was hired due to guitarist Reece Scruggs opting to be by his father’s side during the latter’s cancer battle. Producer/musician Zack Ohren, a previous fill-in and collaborator for Machine Head, was unable to step up due to a health issue of his own. The dates for the tour include:

11/29 Perth, AUS – Astor Theatre
12/01 Sunshine Coast – The Station
12/03 Canberra, AUS – UC Refectory
12/05 Melbourne, AUS – Good Things Festival
12/06 Sydney, AUS – Good Things Festival
12/07 Brisbane, AUS – Good Things Festival
