Capsize have continued their attempt at a comeback with the debut of their new single “The Fracture“. The melodic hardcore band’s career came to a screeching halt back in 2019, after sexual misconduct allegations against their vocalist/guitarist Daniel Wand and guitarist Nick Lopez surfaced.
Those allegations saw the band removed from a tour with blessthefall and more. Lopez and the band parted ways soon after the allegations. Reporting from Alternative Press at the time indicated multiple women had come forward against the pair.
While some sporadic singles have independently emerged since, this new comeback has found the band signing with Roux & Ruin Records. Furthermore, they worked with producer Matt Good (From First To Last, Asking Alexandria) on this new cut. Wand remains in place in the group, with drummer Andrew Tamayo also involved. Wand said of this new track:
“This song is about taking responsibility for everything in my life, even the things that are out of my control. I’ve found holding myself accountable is the only way I’ve been able to make sense of the aftermath when things fall apart in any category of life. It’s about feeling empty from it, and still trying to find some kind of light at the end of the tunnel by being candid about internal struggle. More than anything, I hope it connects with people who can find it relatable, who stuck in their own self-destructive cycles and helps them feel less alone in what they’re going through and maybe taking on a similar route to process what they’re are going through.”
