A second new track from the latest lineup of As I Lay Dying has newly premiered online. This track, “If I Fall“, follows last month’s debut of “Echoes“, which kicked off the metalcore band’s latest era. In an interesting development, the video for this new song is premiering in conjunction with Napalm Records. Vocalist Tim Lambesis stated of the song:
“I wrote the first version of ‘If I Fall‘ before the new lineup even came together, and I knew the song had real potential. As each musician joined the process, that potential only grew — everyone brought something that elevated what I’d already started. Musically it hints at what’s possible with this refreshed energy, and lyrically it reflects the kind of people I want around me for this next and best chapter.”
Late last year, As I Lay Dying once again disintegrated following intense controversy surrounding Tim Lambesis. This time around however, Lambesis‘ alleged actions left him as the sole member of the band, with an entirely roster of musicians having since been brought in to back him. As such, the current roster of the divisive outfit includes:
Vocals/guitar: Tim Lambesis
Vocals/bass: Chris Clancy (Mutiny Within, etc.)
Guitars: Bill Hudson (NorthTale, Tommy Vext, etc.)
Guitars: Don Vedda
Guitars: Jack Daniels (War Of Ages)
Drums: Tim Yeung (Tommy Vext, ex-Divine Heresy, etc.)
With that roster in place, As I Lay Dying recently concluded their comeback tour in Europe, a run celebrating the 20th anniversary of the band’s third studio album “Shadows Are Security“.
