Alice In Chains‘ 2x platinum-certified self-titled studio album will be given a new 30th vinyl reissue through Legacy Recordings on January 30th. That 1995 record was the final full-length opus the grunge legends recorded and released with their vocalist/guitarist Layne Staley, who died from a drug overdose in 2002.
While there’s no bonus tracks added, this new pressing is available in several formats, with initial pre-order options available now through Revolver and Brooklyn Vegan. The color variant being offered up is a translucent highlighter yellow with black and white splatter. That run is limited to 4,000 copies.
Their third studio album overall, “Alice In Chains” was originally released on Halloween (October 31st, 1995.) and was not properly followed up by the band until 2009, when they released their comeback album “Black Gives Way To Blue” with William DuVall replacing Staley in the group.
