Be it a tongue-in-cheek nod to each other, or a merch printing run gone wrong, the September 03rd show played by Armenian-American nü-metal oddballs System Of A Down and alternative metal mavens Deftones, among others, on September 03rd in Toronto, ON featured some amusing merch offerings. Available for sale at the first of those two dates was a shirt featuring a photo of Deftones under a System Of A Down logo. Also available was a shirt picturing System Of A Down under a Deftones logo.
Images of those mixed up merch offerings have been circulating among the band’s fan communities and can be seen below. Notably, the correct respective logos of the bands pictured on the front of the shirts were featured on the back print of each shirt. System Of A Down and Deftones have held strong ties to each other for countless years now, having long both been managed by Velvet Hammer.
The two bands will next play Rogers Stadium in Toronto, ON tomorrow, September 05th with Polyphia and Wisp opening.
