Former I Prevail vocalist Brian Burkheiser has run into some snags in getting his new solo career off the ground. According to a post shared on social media by the musician earlier today, August 25th, a dispute with his ex-bandmates in I Prevail has hindered the project so far. Burkheiser stated:
“Due to an unresolved dispute with my former band I Prevail, I am being blocked from releasing my song ‘Phases‘, as well as other new music.
I’m deeply disappointed, but I’m doing everything I can to move things forward.
I want to thank my family, friends, and most importantly, my fans for their unwavering support.”
Burkheiser split with the platinum-certified metalcore band this past May. In a series of posts on social media he made back in June of this year, he relayed there was “no beef” between him and his ex-bandmates. Burkheiser had been teasing the reveal of his latest musical venture, apparently titled Scatterbrain, in recent months.
Burkheiser has been an advocate for mental health awareness and just three weeks ago, he posted about falling into a “manic state” this summer, describing his mental health at the time as being at an “all time low”. According to Burkheiser, he ultimately “got the help I needed” and was ready to continue with the project.
