Primus Announce Annual New Year's Eve Shows For 2025

Not one to defy the laws of tradition, Primus will once again be closing out the year onstage. While the end of 2025 threw them a curveball, with the unexpected departure of drummer Tim “Herb” Alexander leading to a one-off reunion show with Bryan “Brain Mantia, the alternative metal oddballs are standing on much more solid ground this time around.

Following a global hunt, the band locked in the services of their latest percussionist John Hoffman around the start of the year. Since then the band’s core duo of vocalist/bassist Les Claypool and guitarist Larry “Ler” LaLonde have thoroughly road-tested him over the past few months.

The trio have newly announced that they will be playing a pair of shows at The Fox Theater in Oakland, CA to close out the year. Those concerts will take place December 30th and 31st. Unique sets are planned for both nights, with the first date to feature two separate performances from the band. New Year’s Eve itself however will find them performing a single set, with an opening performance from Puddles Pity Party. Pre-sale tickets and VIP packages will be available tomorrow, August 21st at 10:00am PST. The general onsale will be up this Friday, August 22nd, at 10:00am PST as well.
