Watch Limp Bizkit's Fred Durst Successfully Swat Down A Drone At Last Night's Show In Istanbul, Turkey

Nü-metal royalty Limp Bizkit hit the stage at the Atakoy Marina in Istanbul, Turkey last night, August 17th. During the course of the show, the band delivered a 14-song set that saw the band’s frontman Fred Durst personally deal with a proverbial air raid. Several drones were seen hovering above the audience, taking in the show, presumably in an unauthorized fashion.

During a performance of their penultimate track “Take A Look Around“, Durst coaxed one of those drones to come closer to him, motioning for it to get face to face with him. However, as soon as it got in striking range, Durst quickly lashed out and struck it with the mic, sending it careening to the ground. He then went on to instruct security to throw the disabled drone out into the crowd.

While there’s an inherent irony in the drone seeking to get a better view during a song titled “Take A Look Around“, it’s almost surprising that Durst didn’t intentionally reserve the big moment for one of the two customary performances they delivered of their signature track, “Break Stuff“. Durst himself also had a bit of extra fun with the performance of “Take A Look Around“, informing the audience that actor Tom Cruise had flown in for the show, but was allegedly too shy to come onstage. Those unaware of the song’s origins on the ‘Mission: Impossible 2‘ soundtrack probably didn’t get the apparent joke.

It wasn’t all fun and games and anti-air activities last night however. During the show, Durst informed the audience that last night’s concert may be the final time the Turkish government allow the band to perform in the country. He didn’t elaborate on the matter.

Fan-filmed footage of Durst‘s successful swat down (besting Mike Patton‘s past failed attempt,) is available below. Additional footage of a closer angle can be found via Reddit.
