Iowan masked metallers Slipknot are reportedly considering a potential huge payday, having been reported by Billboard to be nearing the sale of their share of the band’s publishing and recorded master royalties. The publication cites unnamed sources that a potential deal with HarbourView Equity Partners is in the works and could total out at $120 million.

The report goes on to specify that the group are said to retain ownership of its publishing, which is the most integral component of this potential sale. However, the master recording catalog remains controlled by Warner Music Group, who assumed ownership after acquiring Roadrunner Records back in 2007.

Delving into data from Luminate, Billboard went on the speculate that the combined royalty pool of all members of the band would generate around $8.9 million annually. However, the report cautions that not all members of the group appear to be interested in selling all of their stakes at the current time.

Slipknot became free agents back in 2022 after completing their contract with Roadrunner Records.
