Norwegian prog metallers Leprous took a trip to the Musora to take part in a new episode of ‘Covers On The Spot’. As the title suggests, that series pits musicians with coming up with a cover of a track on the spot. The other catch of course is that Musora selects the track, often times pushing the band out of their element.
The choice of track was somewhat serendipitous, with Musora unintentionally choosing a song from a fellow Norwegian outfit: a-ha‘s 1985 smash hit “Take On Me“. That song even proved to be a bit in the wheelhouse of Leprous vocalist/keyboardist Einar Solberg, who had previously covered a-ha‘s “Manhattan Skyline” alongside yet another Norwegian musician, Ihsahn of Emperor fame.
Below you can watch the group work their creative process for the song and ultimately hear their finalized rendition of it.
