While the rollout for Slipknot‘s elaborate 25th anniversary box set edition of their 1999 self-titled ‘debut’ album could have certainly gone a bit better yesterday (July 21st,) the masked metal marauders are making a few amends today. After a lack of proper communication and a dodgy countdown timer reveal on a teaser site came up blank, it was revealed that 100 copies of that elaborate set on blood-filled vinyl were issued and snapped up immediately, incensing numerous fans who never even got a chance to try and purchase it. Priced at $250, those sets then went up on third party sites for thousands of  dollars.

Yesterday, the band went on to confirm that nearly 2,000 more copies of the set were going on sale starting today, July 22nd, easing fans concerns. As of press time, a Spotify exclusive pressing (on graphite vinyl) was offered up to fans today, with a much more agreeable price and a ship date of September 05th. Other variants are expected to emerge via select retailers as well.

Outside of physical offerings, the Iowan outfit have digitally shared a demo version of “Prosthetics” as featured on that set. This early stab at the track is one of some 59 recordings the band packed into that extensive collection (see the track listing) which commemorates the album that initially fueled band’s meteoric rise to fame.
