Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello will headline a benefit show in Los Angeles, CA this coming Monday, June 16th to raise funds for The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights. B Real of Cypress Hill, Pussy Riot, K.Flay, The Neighborhood Kids, a DJ set by artist/activist Shephard Fairey, and as-yet unannounced special guests are also billed for the concert, which will be held at The Echoplex with comedian/actor George Lopez hosting.

Morello stated on social media of the show today, June 13th:

“LOS ANGELES! – I’m calling on you to show up and make some noise! THIS MONDAY, June 16, we take the stage at The Echoplex to raise hell and raise funds for CHIRLA – The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights.

I’ll be joined by B Real (Cypress Hill)! Pussy Riot! K.Flay! And The Neighborhood Kids! With a DJ set by Shepard Fairey! And hosted by George Lopez!

Join us for a night of resistance, music, and solidarity.

DEFEND LA. DEFEND HUMANITY.

Tickets go on sale today at 2PM PT.
Proceeds go to CHIRLA – www.chirla.org.”

The show follows Morello taking part in anti-ICE protests around the Los Angeles, CA area earlier this week in response to immigration raids being conducted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in the city. U.S. President Donald J. Trump authorized the deployment of the National Guard and U.S. Marines to assist ICE and quell the clashes that have since taken place with protestors.

However, local politicians and more have argued that their deployment was an unauthorized show of force and was politically motivated. Court proceedings have since been unfolding regarding the legality of the continued presence of troops in the city.
