Multi-platinum country/hard rock artist HARDY has proclaimed his fandom for British alternative metal stars Sleep Token. The aforementioned masked outfit’s rapid ascension over the past few years has won over countless fans, enabling the band to sell out their first-ever U.S. arena tour, and also make chart history with their latest album “Even In Arcadia“, which opened at #1 in multiple countries.
That fame hasn’t come without a price however. Outside of intrusions into the band’s carefully maintained veil of mystery, there has also been a growing wave of detractors and derision being lobbed the band’s way.
HARDY for his part, likens it to the same behavior Creed and Nickelback endured during their respective meteoric rises. In an new interview with snsmix.com, HARDY came to Sleep Token‘s defense. His response came about when HARDY was asked what was currently on his playlist, to which he replied:
“This is funny that you talked about Creed and Nickelback and people hating, because I’m already starting to see this with this band—and it pisses me off because I just think they’re so different and cool. I’m the biggest Sleep Token fan in the world. I think they are so sick. I think it’s the freshest shit I’ve ever heard. So they’re number one on my list right now.”
