The Dillinger Escape Plan vocalist Dimitri Minakakis has piqued the curiosity of some fans with a video shared to his Instagram stories over the weekend. That clip features footage of a microphone in what appears to be a studio setting. While it’s entirely possible that some rehearsing for the band’s upcoming round of shows was taking place, some have taken it as an indication of potential new music to come from the fearsome mathcore outfit’s current incarnation.
After previously hanging it up in December of 2017 following the conclusion of a farewell tour, the group reunited last year with Minakakis rejoining in place of the group’s most tenured vocalist, Greg Puciato. The outfit went on to embark upon a string of shows celebrating 25 years of their debut album “Calculating Infinity“, which Minakakis of course originally fronted in the studio as well.
However, with that anniversary having passed and the band continuing to add dates to their live schedule, there has been speculation regarding their intentions for the future. Thus far there doesn’t appear to have been any official word regarding their plans for potential new music. They do have the following shows booked though.
05/18 Milwaukee, WI – Milwaukee Metal Fest
07/19 Mansfield, OH – Inkcarceration Music & Tattoo Festival
07/26 Denver, CO – Unhinged Festival
