Wes Scantlin, vocalist/guitarist of multi-platinum post-grunge outfit Puddle Of Mudd, was arrested this past Tuesday, March 11th after a 03:00 am call was placed for a domestic disturbance to a Torrance, CA apartment. TMZ report that attending officers determined a physical altercation had occurred between Scantlin and his girlfriend, and that upon being searched, Scantlin was found to be in possession of an undisclosed controlled substance.
As of the time of this report, he is said to still be held in custody in an L.A. County Jail for felony domestic violence and possession of a controlled substance, with his bail set at $90,000. This latest downturn for the troubled musician follows a series of erratic incidents that have transpired after what appears to have been a temporary period of sobriety for the troubled rocker. Back in 2019, he credited to finding religion and his time spent incarcerated in helping him then turn over a new leaf.
Scantlin is no stranger to the authorities, with his long history of substance abuse resulting in past charges of domestic violence, drug possession, vandalism, trespassing and many more bizarre incidents. In 2024 Scantlin found himself in an armed standoff with the police , and earlier this month claimed he was ‘roofied’ by an ex-bandmate after delivering a disastrous live performance which showed clear signs of him being inebriated.
