Heavy metal legend King Diamond has premiered a music video for his new single, “Spider Lilly“. Having spent the fall on the road together, Myrkur contributed backing vocals to this track. The video was shot with director David Brodsky (Cattle Decapitation, Entheos).

Some of the filming for the clip took place at the Pennhurst Asylum in Spring City, PA amid the band’s touring this fall. King had the following to say of that shoot, which took place two days prior to Halloween:

“What a dark but great experience,. Hopefully that was not the last video we will be able to film there. There are already several tales waiting to be told about all that has happened before, during, and after the birth of the song ‘Spider Lilly‘.”

This song was mixed by Arthur Rizk (Soulfly, Code Orange) and is taken from the upcoming first installment of a new horror trilogy of releases planned from King Diamond. That initial effort will be titled “Saint Lucifer’s Hospital 1920“.
