Australian progressive metalcore band Northlane have released a new song titled “Welcome To The Industry” as part of the soundtrack for the video game ‘Fretless – The Wrath Of Riffson‘. YouTuber/musician Rob Scallon (Oni, etc.) has been deeply involved in that new metal-themed turn-based ‘GuitarRPG’, seemingly inspiring the main playable character. While a demo was released a month or two back, a release date is tentatively expected this year.
Northlane commented:
“We present to you ‘Welcome to the Industry‘ – part of the original soundtrack for the upcoming game ‘Fretless – The Wrath of Riffson‘
The brief was heavy but slightly light-hearted, which was a fun challenge for us, especially when it came to the narrative of the evil -(redacted)-.
Keeping in mind that some of the sections would be used as holding patterns for dialogue, we tried to strike a balance between groovy riffs, build-ups, and chunky chords, leaning more toward the guitar side of Northlane with some electronics in more of a supportive role.
We had a lot of fun with this, and we hope you all enjoy it.”
