Last night (September 12th) served as the kickoff date for Korn‘s fall headlining tour with Gojira and Spiritbox. The openers on the run had some setlist surprises in store, with Canadian alternative metal outfit Spiritbox expectedly giving a live debut to their latest single “Soft Spine“.
Acclaimed French progressive metal band Gojira meanwhile dusted off “The Axe” for its first live performance since 2017 and also inserted a snippet of groundbreaking Paris Olympic Games song, “Mea Culpa (Ah! Ça ira!)” into their set.
As for the nü-metal pioneers in Korn, the group dug deep into their catalog, dusting off the “Issues” track “Hey Daddy” for its first performance since 1999. Other reintroductions to the live set included “Oildale (Leave Me Alone)” getting its first performance since 2012, in addition to its first performance since guitarist Brian “Head” Welch rejoined the band. Fan favorite “Dead Bodies Everywhere” also made its way back into the set for the first since since 2019.
