Tool have shared footage of a tour prank they played on Night Verses amid their summer run in Europe and the UK together this past June. If you’re unaware, the aforementioned chart-topping alternative metal outfit have a different member of their roster pick tour openers on a rotating basis. Guitarist Adam Jones has explained that selection process in the past.
Given the involvement of Tool bassist Justin Chancellor in the aforementioned prank, it would appear that it was his turn for that overseas trip. His choice of Night Verses wasn’t out of left field either, as he did appear on their single “Séance” that debuted this past fall.
In the below footage newly shared by Tool‘s Instagram account, you can watch Chancellor don a Willy Wonka-esque costume, flanked by several costumed members of Tool‘s road crew to enact his tour closing prank on the instrumental prog metal trio.
Tool‘s various members recently took some time off after wrapping up the aforementioned jaunt across the pond and look to be back at work on new material for their highly-anticipated sixth studio album.
