Late musician/’producer’/engineer Steve Albini has been honored with a street in his longtime hometown of Chicago, IL. Albini was respected not only for his work in Big Black, Shellac, Rapeman and Pigface, but also his input and skill behind the boards on records from Nirvana, Bush, Helmet, Chevelle, Zao, and numerous others. He was known to primarily operate out of Electrical Audio, a studio he founded in Chicago, IL.

It is the location of that facility that is now being honored as ‘Steve Albini Way’, with signs to be installed on the 2600-2700 block of West Belmont Avenue, from North Rockwell Ave to North California Avenue signifying it as such. Albini passed away on May 07th at the age of 61 due to a heart attack.
