Cemetery Skyline, the goth metal supergroup fronted by Mikael Stanne (Dark Tranquillity, The Halo Effect, etc.), have put out their second single, “In Darkness“. A video for it was shot with director Patric Ullaeus (Arch Enemy, In Flames), with Stanne commenting, “It is a song about losing your sense of self in all kinds of misery and doubt.”
Keyboardist Santeri Kallio added, “I like to think that people feel the melody and the vibe with this one. It’s taking me back to a gothic disco in Düsseldorf in ’96. There is a lot of smoke, a lot of lights, good melodies, a nice and steady beat.”
Guitarist Markus Vanhala offered, “After the first single, it shows a different side of goth. Goths like to dance…in darkness. Dancing with themselves or with myself, like Billy Idol once said, who had a valid point.”
The band will make their live debut at the John Smith Rock Festival in Laukaa, Finland on August 18th-20th. If you missed their lineup reveal, Cemetery Skyline‘s roster runs as follows:
Vocals: Mikael Stanne (Dark Tranquillity, The Halo Effect)

Keyboards: Santeri Kallio (Amorphis)
