Converge Postpone Latin American Tour To November Due To Kurt Ballou Recently Being Hospitalized For A Foot Infection

Converge guitarist (and acclaimed producer, etc.) Kurt Ballou was recently hospitalized with a case of cellulitis (a bacterial skin infection) in his foot, leading to him spending 8 days in the hospital for treatment. He has since been discharged and continues to recover at home, taking medication as he continues to heal.

In light of his condition, he is however not cleared to travel and thus, the band have been forced to postpone their touring plans of Latin America that were booked for this month. The new shows will take place in November and run as follows:

11/02 Mexico City, MEX – Foro Veintiocho
11/03 San Jose, CR – Casa Rojas
11/05 Bogota, COL – Zona 16
11/07 Santiago, CHL – Blondie
11/09 Abasto, ARG – Blondie
11/10 Sao Paulo, BRA – Cine Jola

In the below video, Ballou expressed his disappointment to once again postpone their Latin American touring plans, having previously had to do so amid the outbreak of the pandemic. He said alongside that video in a written statement:

“Announcement: Unfortunately we need to postpone the upcoming @converge Latin American tour until the fall as I’m recovering from a random foot infection that had me hospitalized for 8 days! I’m resting at home now and doing better every day but not yet fit for travel.

I’m very disappointed this tour is being delayed, but also super stoked that we were able to add a show in Argentina!

South East Asia tour and everything else on the books are still going forward as planned.
Thanks everyone for your support and we’ll see you soon!”
