Hoobastank will soon be celebrating their 2x multi-platinum 2003 album “The Reason” with a 20th anniversary show. That set will take place at The Echo in Los Angeles, CA on December 11th. Tickets for the event are available now through ticketmaster.com.
The group will be performing the aforementioned album in its entirety at the show, and will also be auctioning off signed prints to benefit the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund as part of the show.
In other news, a new 20th anniversary edition forest green vinyl pressing of “The Reason” has been announced with reimagined artwork and a previously unreleased cover of Rod Stewart‘s “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy“, which stems from the studio sessions for the aforementioned album. Versions of that rendition have leaked out on the internet over the years.
Previously unseen Polaroid prints taken during “The Reason” era will also be included with the vinyl. A December 08th release date is expected. Pre-orders are live via udsicovermusic.com.
Vocalist Doug Robb commented:
“This anniversary is extra special for me. Having the album that pretty much defined our careers turn 20 years old and for us to still be able to play it for fans, old and new, is something I never dreamt of when we were recording it. This album opened so many doors and exposed us to so many fans to whom I’ve been so thankful for and still can never truly express my gratitude to. Happy birthday to a piece of music that shaped my life, personally, so much.”
Hoobastank‘s “The Reason” continues to resonate with listeners to this day, with the official music video for the title track having surpassed a billion views on YouTube this past August.
