Pro skateboarding legend Tony Hawk recently leaked word that Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross of Rock N’ Roll Hall Of Famers Nine Inch Nails are working on the score to the next Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film, ‘Teenage Mutant Ninjas Turtles: Mutant Mayhem‘.
Hawk mentioned in the below episode of his ‘Hawk Vs. Wolf‘ podcast that Reznor and Ross have been working on the score to that upcoming film, which is due in theaters on August 02nd. That reboot of sorts will feature the voice talents of Seth Rogen (who also co-wrote), Paul Rudd, Jackie Chan, John Cena and many more.
Hawk stated of some time he recently spent with Reznor, offering:
“Him and Atticus are working on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. When I went there, they were working on the soundtrack to that movie that Seth [Rogen] told us about.”
That Hawk spent some time with Reznor is no surprise, given that Reznor made a surprise cameo in a video for a cover of the industrial metal band’s early staple “Wish“, which Hawk fronted. You can find that rendition, which features former members of The Dillinger Escape Plan, Every Time I Die and more here.
Jeff Rowe, who co-directed the upcoming film alongside Kyler Spears, has since confirmed the NIN duo are overseeing the score for the film, offering:
Well now that my teenage hero @tonyhawk has leaked that my music heroes are doing this I can add that the score is absolutely AMAZING. Exhilarating, terrifying, heartbreaking, full of sounds I didn’t know existed. I don’t have the vocabulary to describe it. I love it so much https://t.co/kN6KCdHqy1
