Clown Says Long-Shelved Slipknot Side Project Album “Look Outside Your Window” Could Arrive This Year

2023 could finally see the release of the long-awaited Slipknot-related album “Look Outside Your Window“. That record originally came about during the sessions for Slipknot‘s platinum-certified 2008 album, “All Hope Is Gone“.

Amid the studio time for the latter, several members of Slipknot (frontman Corey Taylor, percussionist M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan, guitarist Jim Root and turntablist Sid Wilson) splintered off and laid down a separate album’s worth of material on their own. They have described as being influenced by Radiohead and the like, rather than the metallic output you’d expect.

While that album has been mixed and mastered for some time, the plans for it remain up in the air. However, with Slipknot‘s contract with Roadrunner Records set to be fulfilled this year, Crahan seems more hopeful for that album finally coming off of the shelf. Speaking with Upset, Crahan said of it:

“We wouldn’t want Slipknot to hurt ‘Look Outside Your Window‘, and we wouldn’t want ‘Look Outside Your Window‘ to be a little irritation to Slipknot. Why? Because it’s beautiful God art and people deserve it. The good news is that six months from now, April Fool’s Day 2023, we’re off the label. There are no plans to immediately release something, and we haven’t talked about it, but I would imagine it’ll probably come very soon afterwards. There’s nothing else to do, and it’s ready to go. It’ll be worth the wait.”
