In This Moment, Shinedown and Skillet have recently received new certifications for their respective singles in the United States. A batch of new gold and platinum certifications announced on June 29th by the RIAA, held good news for all three of the aforementioned acts.
First up are In This Moment, whose 2014 “Black Widow” tracks “Sick Like Me” & “Big Bad Wolf” have both hit gold status. Those two awards mark the alternative metal band’s third and fourth gold singles. They’ve also previously notched up a gold album for their 2012 release, “Blood“.
No stranger to gold and platinum hardware, hard rock outfit Shinedown picked up a platinum certification for their 2018 track “Monsters“. It had previously gone gold in December of 2020.
Elsewhere, Christian hard rockers Skillet‘s 2016 single “Feel Invincible” attained 2x multi-platinum status, having previously gone platinum in April of 2019.
A platinum album/single in the United States represents 1,000,000 units, while gold signifies 500,000 units. Outside of traditional physical/digital sales, the certifications factor in digital streams/downloads with 10 permanent track downloads counting as 1 unit and 1500 on-demand audio/video streams from a particular album also counting as as a unit.
