It’s no secret that the relationship between legendary death metal outfit Cannibal Corpse and their original frontman Chris Barnes (now of Six Feet Under) hasn’t exactly been friendly. However, Barnes stoked those flames substantially recently while venting publicly on his disdain for the current modern death metal scene.
Barnes made his initial comment of “I despise what this genre has become” in regards to a roundtable video featuring the vocalists of several modern death metal bands and his own successor in Cannibal Corpse, George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher. His comments made headlines across the internet and in the weeks since Barnes has stood firm on his position.
However, it would appear that at least a sect of Cannibal Corpse fans have seen fit to voice their disapproval of Barnes, as the below clip of members of the audience shouting “fuck Chris Barnes” during a recent Cannibal Corpse show certainly indicates. Fisher himself can be seen responding back to the fans offering, “you said it, not me.”
