After a considerable wait due to pandemic-related limitations, Multi-platinum metalcore turned alternative metal outfit Avenged Sevenfold were recently able to get in the studio with a 78-piece orchestra. Those sessions were one of the chief hang-ups the band had been facing in furthering along the the recording process for their eighth studio album.

Vocalist M. Shadows told Metal Hammer last month that the majority of the upcoming full-length effort had been recorded for a year already, but they were waiting for restrictions to lift to allow them record the orchestral parts in a non-remote setting. Per the band’s social media, those sessions took place this past Tuesday, February 08th.

The band’s drummer Brooks Wackermn recently took to Instagram to offer the following of that:

“We-Avenged Sevenfold– started writing this record 4 years ago and I can’t believe we are 90% done…One of the perks-in the creative process- is that we are able to track a 78 piece orchestra on our records. The fact that we are able to bring incredible musicians together to enhance our art still gives me chills.. I can’t wait for the the world to hear this.. all I can say it’s unlike Anything we’ve ever released.. ALRIGHT and good night!”

Shadows previously stated that they intend to conclude tracking the album this month with mixing expected to commence in March.
