'When We Were Young' Festival Expanded To Two Days Amid Growing Safety Concerns

The expansive emo, pop punk and metalcore featuring ‘When We Were Young‘ festival has been expanded to two days after the initially announced date promptly sold out. That festival will now take place on both October 22nd & 23rd at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds in Las Vegas, NV with the same lineup performing each day.

While the second day will help ease the concerns of fans unable to get tickets for the initial date, it is also seemingly hoped to alleviate growing concerns about safety & security related to the event. Those concerns have grown in recent days given the absolute enormity of the 65-band bill and the congestion and complications that could emerge given the tight timetables between the multi-stage sets.

Live Nation, who are promoting the event, recently commented on security concerns regarding the festival to Newsweek.com, offering that the safety measures for the festival have been “thoroughly planned.”

A spokesperson for Live Nation continued:

“The safety of fans, artists and staff is thoroughly planned for among event organizers and in coordination with local authorities. We have seen a lot of excitement around this festival and we look forward to putting on an incredible event for all of the fans this October. We encourage fans to check the festival website and socials for all of the latest updates.”

Live Nation have been under fire since the tragedy that unfolded at this past November’s ‘Astroworld‘ concert in Houston, TX. Allegedly poor layout planning and lax security claimed the lives of ten people and left hundreds more injured after being trampled at that festival. Live Nation is currently facing multiple lawsuits in the wake of that tragic incident.
