Slipknot Tentatively Eyeing Spring Release For New Album

Slipknot‘s seventh studio album is tentatively expected to see a release this spring according to the band’s frontman Corey Taylor. The band worked on that outing with influential producer Joe Barresi (Tool, Queens Of The Stone Age) and debuted the first single from those sessions, “The Chapeltown Rag“, this past November.

Newly speaking with Lou Brutus for HardDrive Radio, Taylor offered that he was currently redoing his vocals on a track he wasn’t happy with and would potentially be ‘punching up’ a few more tracks he wasn’t 100% with. He later said, “the goal right now — and I don’t wanna talk out of turn — the goal is to get it ready for mix [in] January so we can get it out two or three months after.”

He continued:

“We were able to really kind of pull off something crazy and now we’re about [10%] away from the album being finished. It’s really good; I’m really, really stoked on it. I actually like this one more than I like ‘We Are Not Your Kind‘, and I loved ‘We Are Not Your Kind‘.”
