Killswitch Engage and I Prevail both picked up new plaques this month for their sales/streams in the United States. First up, Killswitch Engage managed to notch up their first platinum album, with 2006’s “As Daylight Dies” officially being certified as such on November 23rd. That album was previously certified gold back on June 30th of 2009.
I Prevail took home their third gold single overall for the track “Alone” from their 2016 debut album, “Lifelines“. That song was certified by the RIAA on November 19th.
A platinum album/single in the United States represents 1,000,000 units, while gold signifies 500,000 units. Outside of traditional physical/digital sales, the certifications factor in digital streams/downloads with 10 permanent track downloads counting as 1 unit and 1500 on-demand audio/video streams from a particular album also counting as as a unit.
