Converge paid tribute to their fallen friend LG Petrov during the opening song of their set last night (September 26th) at the ‘Decibel Metal And Beer Fest: Philly‘ at The Fillmore in Philadelphia, PA. The group honored their late friend by performing a cover of Entombed‘s “Wolverine Blues“—a popular song from Entombed‘s catalog recorded during their time with Petrov as their vocalist. Sadly, Petrov passed away in March of this year after battling a form of bile duct cancer. He was 49-years-old.
Converge have covered “Wolverine Blues” a number of times over the years and were joined onstage by Petrov himself to play the track back in 2013. Footage of that can be found here.
The rest of Converge‘s aforementioned live set saw them running through their entire 2001 album “Jane Doe“.
