Power Trip Frontman Riley Gale’s Death Ruled An Accidental Overdose

An accidental fentanyl overdose has been ruled as the cause of death for Power Trip frontman Riley Gale. The autopsy report on his August 24th, 2020 death first surfaced yesterday, May 24th, via a video posted by the YouTuber known as the Heavy Metal Picker. Since then, and MetalSucks have verified the authenticity of the report with the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s office.

The report notes that Gale died from pulmonary edema (excess fluid in the lungs) brought on by the “toxic effects of fentanyl”. According to the report, the fentanyl in Gale‘s blood was measured at 22.5ng/mL.

Upon the initial news of Gale‘s passing last year, his family asked that donations were made in his name to Dallas Hope Charities—a non-profit dedicated to helping homeless LBGTQ+ youth. Thanks in part those donations, that organization was able to purchase a new facility which was dedicated to Gale this past December.
