Karnivool Announce ‘The Decade Of Sound Awake’ Livestream

May 12th has been announced as the date for Karnivool‘s livestream concert, ‘The Decade Of Sound Awake‘. The show will find the band performing their 2009 sophomore album “Sound Awake” in full at Heath Ledger Theatre in their hometown of Perth, Australia. Some brand new material and more will also be played during the set.

The band had originally envisioned ‘The Decade Of Sound Awake‘ as an Australian tour in 2020 until COVID-19 ruined their plans. Speaking of this performance, the band’s vocalist Ian Kenny commented:

“Diving back into ‘Sound Awake‘ as a complete performance was a sweet reminder of the layers and complexity that make it one of our most important releases. The music pushes and pulls in complex directions, I continue to find something new when lost in its emotional turbulence.”

The group themselves offered:

“This one-time livestream event will bring The ‘Decade Of Sound Awake‘ show in its entirety directly into your home. Featuring a complete run through of the classic second album plus new material, the odd horn section, at least one Yiidaki (didgeridoo) and, yes, captured on film properly for the first time – ‘Fade’.

In order to accommodate our fans wherever you are, this livestream event will be broadcast across multiple time-zones. We’ve selected the pleasantly symmetrical 12.5.21 stream date, a Wednesday night, and hopefully at a time that suits as many of you as possible.

There are no restrictions on which stream you can watch so please choose the most convenient time slot for you. Please note, ticket prices are INCLUSIVE of booking fees and local taxes, no hidden charges. So get your ticket via the band website, grab plenty of beverages and join us!”
