Abe Cunningham Of Deftones

You Can Own The Snare Drum Played On Deftones’ First Album “Adrenaline” Via Gojira’s New Benefit Auction

Gojira have been ramping up their auction to raise money for The Articulation of Indigenous Peoples of Brazil, an organization which ‘advocates for environmental and cultural rights of indigenous tribes in the Amazon who have suffered immensely – victims of deforestation, land loss, forced labor, violence, and harassment.’

The band have enlisted a number of their friends and peers to offer up rare items for the auction, including a snare drum used by Deftones drummer Abe Cunningham during the recording of their platinum-certified 1995 debut album, “Adrenaline“. Cunningham himself wrote on the snare, “only had two snares at that time and this one sounded better haha! I used this snare on our “entire” first album….Adrenaline!!”

Other items up for auction include a custom etched bass signed by Metallica‘s Robert Trujillo and his wife Chloe as well as signed instruments and more from members of Gojira, Lamb Of God, Bring Me The Horizon, Ghost, Max Cavalera and more. You can check out that auction here.

As previously reported, that auction was launched around Gojira‘s new single “Amazonia“, which you can stream here. That song will be included on the band’s new album “Fortitude“, out April 30th.
