Gojira Premiere New Single “Amazonia”

Gojira have premiered their new track “Amazonia” from their seventh studio album “Fortitude“. Charles De Meyer directed the below video for the song, the proceeds from which will go towards The Articulation of Indigenous Peoples of Brazil. According to the band, that organization, “advocate for environmental and cultural rights of indigenous tribes in the Amazon who have suffered immensely – victims of deforestation, land loss, forced labor, violence, and harassment.”

Additionally the outfit are auctioning off custom guitars from frontman/guitarist Joe Duplantier and Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo, along with a signed photo print from Lamb Of God frontman Randy Blythe and more to raise money for the aforementioned cause. A limited edition Gojira art print has also been launched to benefit the APIB. The first 500 to purchase it will have their names added to the final design, you can pick it up here. Joe commented of the initiative:

“This is a call for unity. The music community can be powerful when united towards something meaningful like this! So many friends, great artists, bands have joined the movement without hesitation by donating instruments. This is a collective effort from so many people around us!”

He continued:

“We don’t want to just release a song called ‘Amazonia‘—we want to do something on top of that. We feel a responsibility as artists to offer a way for people to take action.”

Gojira‘s aforementioned new album will be out on April 30th.
