Staind Hoping To Release New Album In 2022

0

Staind are tentatively planning to have their eighth studio album out in 2022. During an appearance yesterday (March 30th) on SiriusXM‘s ‘Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk‘, the band’s frontman Aaron Lewis revealed that they had initially planned to have their follow-up to their 2011 self-titled album out sooner:

“I would certainly love to have it recorded and done by the end of this year, to be released next year. All of our plans that were kind of semi on the books and on the table, everything just had a year taken off of it [due to the pandemic]. We were gonna have a record come out sometime in 2020 or certainly in 2021, and there was a schedule that was on the table that, just like everything else, got burned to the ground as soon as [the lockdown] started.”

The group had originally intended to hit the road last summer with Disturbed until COVID-19 concerns saw that tour postponed to this summer. Earlier this month Disturbed announced that that lingering uncertainties related to COVID-19 led to that tour’s official cancellation.

If you missed the news yesterday, Staind have announced a live album titled “Live: It’s Been Awhile” for a May 07th release as well as two streaming concerts, one of which will see them perform their 5x multi-platinum album “Break The Cycle“. You can find more details regarding that here.
